Meals that Heal: Asparagus and Carrots

Asparagus and Carrots:
Saute in a dry pan about 5 minutes:
1/2 lb. asparagus, cut into thirds
5 carrots, cut or julienned
salt and pepper

MY EATING PLAN

FOUR FOOD GROUPS: fruit, vegetables, grain, legumes

WAKE UP
1/2 lemon in large glass of warm water.

BREAKFAST (examples)
1/2c cereal or oatmeal with rice or almond milk, banana
whole wheat pancakes made with banana and almond milk

LUNCH AND DINNER
*1 portion legumes, (about 1/2 c cooked beans)
*1 portion whole grain ( like rice, millet, quinoa, potatoes, corn, Ezekiel bread, whole grain pasta)
*1 portion veggies (raw or cooked, including lots of greens)
*1 fruit
*( Condiments, no oil: vinegar, mustard, spices, etc.)
Plate should be 1/2 starch ( grain and legumes and non-starchy veggies), 1/2 non-starchy vegetables and fruit

LIMIT: high fat plant foods like, avocados, olives, and nuts)

ELIMINATE: Animal foods ( meat, eggs, dairy)
Processed foods (oil, white flour, white sugar)
